My name is Elizabeth Whitten and I was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
I’m currently the assistant editor at Downhome magazine.
After completing my Masters in Anthropology and even getting into my PhD program of choice, I had a change of plans and decided to become a journalist. I graduated from the one-year bachelor of journalism at the University of King’s College, Halifax.
I’ve interned at the St. John’s Telegram, the Chronicle Herald (NS) and the St. John’s Oxfam branch.
As an undergraduate, I won numerous academic awards and I studied and worked in Germany.
